Top 10 Tips for learning in N9 Lower Edmonton
Where is the best quietest place to start your lessons from?
Clydesdale Road turning left onto Scotland Green Road then taking the next left towards Sedcote Road. Great place to get started on your first driving lessons. It will give you a chance to get used to driving your car before heading out to busier Roads.
What are the speed limits on the roads?
There are mostly 30 mph with some duel carriageways like the A10 Great Cambridge road and the A406 North Circular Road.
Are there many big or small roundabouts in my area?
Very few roundabouts in the area but if you’re looking to practice roundabouts I would suggest heading up towards the Great Cambridge roundabout where the A10 road meets the A406 North Circular. You have a medium sized roundabout where Mollison Avenue meets the A110 Nags Head Road. There are other smaller roundabouts close by to help you get used to Roundabouts.
Are there any dual carriageways?
The A10 and the A406 are the closest dual carriageways
What are the best times during the day to do your driving lessons?
It gets busy around rush hour times but if you go in the opposite direction to the traffic you should still be able to get a lot of driving done. In the mornings it’s busy heading into Central London and in the evening it’s busy heading out from London. The best times to practice are from 10am in the mornings until 3pm, outside of these time on workdays the roads can become very busy.
Are there any busy/difficult/unusual junctions?
Most of the main roads get busy. Joining the A10 and the North Circular from the side roads can be a bit hectic so you may have to be patient when waiting for a break in the traffic.
Are there any places to practice bay parking?
There are not many places to practice except in housing estates. Ikea of the North Circular is a great place to practice. Also the big Tesco store beside it has a big car park to practice in.
Which are my nearest theory test centres?
The nearest theory test centres are Southgate, Ilford, Mile End which has 3 centres A , B and C, Then there is London Bridge (Southwark) theory test centre.
Where is my local practical test centre?
Which is the easiest test centre to do your practical driving test in my area?
All test centres are the same. If you’re not a fan of roundabouts then Wood Green and Tottenham have fewer roundabouts on the test routes but if you are going to do your test in either Wood Green or Tottenham make sure you practice the Great Cambridge Roundabout from all directions, Chingford test centre has an uneven car park. Chingford and Wanstead cover a lot of the same roads. You will be taken onto big roundabouts on most tests. Enfield has a good mix of roads on tests.
