Semi Intensive Driving Course NW9
Our semi intensive courses can be spread over a period of no more than 6 weeks. Your driving lessons are booked in around your diary. We do a minimum of 2 hour a day and a maximum of 5 hours a day. Your practical driving test is booked in for the last day of your course.

Where is the best quietest place to start your lessons from?
Crossway and Colin Crescent is a great place to get started. Heading towards Hillfield Avenue and Rushgrove Avenue. You will be able to take a run at changing gears and doing left and right turns.
What are the speed limits on the roads?
There are mostly 30 mph and a some 20 mph roads
Are there many big or small roundabouts in my area?
There are a few roundabouts in the area, big and small. The Apex Corner and Mill Lane roundabouts are the biggest in the area. If you head down the A40 Western Avenue you have that massive roundabout at Hanger Lane. It’s very busy so make sure you are confident on roundabouts before trying this one. You also have Brent Cross roundabout not to far away.
Are there any dual carriageways?
The A1 and A41 are the main dual carriageway in the area. Heading further out you have the Barnet Way A1. The A40 and the A406 are very close by too.
What are the best times during the day to do your driving lessons?
It gets busy around rush hour times but if you go in the opposite direction to the traffic you should still be able to get a lot of driving done. Heading out of town towards Barnet in the mornings is your best bet to get a lot of driving done.
Are there any busy/difficult/unusual junctions?
Most of the main roads get busy. there is a lot of traffic during the day but very best in rush hours. The A1 and A41 are incredibly busy most times of the day.
Are there any places to practice bay parking?
There are not many places to practice except in housing estates and if it’s not too busy then Brent Cross shopping centre car parks is your best bet. Also in the evenings the car ark at Hendon test centre is a great place to practice.
Which are my nearest theory test centres?
The nearest theory test centres are London Bridge, Southgate and then Watford. A bit further away you have the 3 theory test centres at Mile End
Where is my local practical test centre?
Which is the easiest test centre to do your practical driving test in my area?
All test centres are the same. Borehamwood has lots of little roundabouts, Hendon and Mill Hill cover mostly the same test roads. At Hendon and Mill Hill tests you are likely to be taken onto the A41. Barnet has a great mix of roads on its test routes. There is a good chance you will be taken onto country roads. The Pinner test area has the least amount of roundabouts and dual carriageways on its test routes.
